FAQs

What are the dates, times, and locations?

Our first stop will be in Austin, Texas September 24-25. The event will be hosted at Capital Factory.

From there, we move on to San Diego, California October 29-30. For this event, we'll be at MicroTek San Diego Training & Meeting Rooms.

Finally, for our final stop in 2019, we'll be in Atlanta, Georgia November 19-20. Find us at MicroTek Atlanta Training Rooms.

Where should we stay and are you offering discounted room nights?

If you are traveling to Austin, we recommend the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown because it is connected to Capital Factory. There's also an InterContinentalAloft, and Driskell within walking distance.

If you need accommodations in San Diego, the event venue has pre-negotiated rates with nearby hotels. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to learn more.

Similarly, the Atlanta venue has pre-negotiated rates with nearby hotels. Please click the hotels tab in the light blue region of this page to learn more.

What topics will be covered?

Track One - Advanced Velocity & Web Services

On day one, a Hannon Hill team member will cover advanced Velocity tools and tactics. Topics will include when and how to use the Query tool, string replacements, arrays, node structure versus objects, and Velocity best practices. Participants should have a working knowledge of XPath and Velocity basics including variables, conditional statements, loops, and traversing XML using built in tools.

On day two, we will utilize PHP to introduce users to the Cascade CMS web services API. Participants will learn how to connect to Cascade CMS using web services, read content, and update content automatically. Users will also be shown how to access the site administrative area to update a site setting over multiple sites.

Track Two - Cascade CMS Boot Camp (System Administrator Training)

Track Two is for developers and system administrators who never went through formal training with the Hannon Hill team. If you were hired by an organization running Cascade CMS or inherited it from someone who no longer works there, this event is for you.

You will learn how to manage Users and Groups, create content, and approve change through Workflow. Then, you will build on that knowledge and learn how to integrate the fundamental assets needed to take full advantage of the product. Topics include coding formats using Velocity for XML data, index blocks, navigation, breadcrumbs, and macros, managing a site including settings, publishing, connectors, WYSIWYG configurations, and much more.

Will you still host the Cascade User Conference?

These events are replacing the 2019 Cascade User Conference. Based on attendee feedback over the past several years, we are delivering more technical content at a lower price point in locations that are less of a travel burden.

Can I sign up for a one-on-one?

We will not have scheduled one-on-one slots, but our team will be there to speak privately with you on an ad-hoc basis, as their schedule allows.
