Workshops


Join our experienced Services Team for a full six hours of hands-on, technical training on Velocity, Web Services, and Workflows. The time you spend in these workshops is immeasuable in terms of the training value that you will take back to your organization. 

The workshops are separated into two tracks and are an additional cost to the main conference ticket. Please review the workshop descriptions below to see which track would fit your needs best:

Track One
  • Velocity
    • In this workshop, attendees will gain basic knowledge of XPath and Velocity basics including variables, conditional statements, loops, and traversing XML using built-in tools. Attendees will also gain some Velocity best practices.
  • Workflows
    • A Hannon Hill team member will walk through workflow basics, including how and why to set up a workflow. We also will cover the progression of steps in a workflow, the decisions a user can make within the context of a workflow, and behaviors used to perform actions in a workflow.
Track Two
  • Advanced Velocity
    • Hannon Hill team member will cover advanced Velocity tools and tactics. Topics will include when and how to use the Query tool, string replacements, arrays, node structure versus objects. Participants should have a working knowledge of XPath and Velocity basics including variables, conditional statements, loops, and traversing XML using built in tools.
  • Web Services
    • The Web Services workshop will utilize PHP to introduce users to the Cascade CMS web services API. Participants will learn how to connect to Cascade CMS using web services, read content, and update content automatically. Users will also be shown how to access the site administrative area to update a site setting over multiple sites. Participants should have working knowledge of programming basics including variables, arrays, and conditionals.

To attend Track 2, participants should have working knowledge of programming basics including variables, arrays, and conditionals. Please note that this workshop track is intended for intermediate to advanced users.
